Schengen Visa Requirements (2025)

To obtain a Schengen Visa, a complete file must be prepared, including the following documents:

Valid Passport

Must be valid for at least 6 months after the return date, with at least two blank pages.

Recent Personal Photos

Must meet passport photo specifications (white background, size 35x45 mm).

Visa Application Form

Must be filled out electronically or physically with accuracy and signed by the applicant.

Travel Health Insurance

Must cover medical emergencies with a minimum coverage of €30,000, valid in all Schengen countries.

Hotel Booking or Proof of Accommodation

Must cover the entire duration of the stay.

Round-Trip Flight Ticket

Or proof of a confirmed flight reservation.

Bank Statement

For the last 3–6 months, proving financial capability to cover trip expenses.

Employment Letter or Proof of Study

Clarifying the applicant's employment or student status.

Cover Letter

Explaining the purpose of the trip and the travel plan.

Fees and Costs (2025)

  • Adults: EUR 90.
  • Children (6–12 years): EUR 45.
  • Children under 6 years: Exempt.
  • Note: Some nationalities may benefit from reduced fees or exemptions.

Processing Time

  • Usually between 15 – 30 days.
  • During peak seasons (summer/holidays), the duration may extend further.
  • It is advised to apply 6 – 8 weeks before the planned travel date.

Important Notes

  • The application must be submitted at the embassy or consulate of the country where you will spend the longest period of your trip.
  • If the duration is equal between several countries, the application must be submitted at the embassy of the country you will enter first.
  • Starting from 2028, the digital visa will be fully adopted (replacing the paper sticker).
